Pilrig Children’s Nursery has an open-door policy and parents are welcome in the nursery at any time.
 
We keep parents informed through a range of communication methods, including our weekly Friday Round Ups, seasonal newsletters and biannual questionnaires. Each month we ask parents a quick question to gather feedback on key topics. Parent Evenings are held twice each year, giving families the opportunity to discuss their child’s learning and development with their key worker.


 
We use EYLog to record each child’s daily care and learning, including observations, photos and written notes about their development. Staff complete daily diaries covering meals, sleep, nappies, toileting and other routine care. Parents have secure login access through the EYLog app, allowing them to view their child’s updates and contribute comments as they wish.
 
Nursery staff provide a verbal handover to parents at the end of each day, giving parents the chance to speak with their child’s keyworker, to learn all about their child’s day.
