Our Team

Kirstie

Manager

Kirstie qualified in 2006 with an SVQ level 3 in childcare and education. After several years, Kirstie had a break from childcare but, when her son was born in 2017, realised that she missed working with children and returned to nursery work.

Kirstie has been with Pilrig Children’s Nursery since early 2020 and enjoys baking, craftwork and spending time with her friends and family in her spare time.

Gemma

Deputy Manager

Gemma graduated with a BA in Educational Studies in 2015 and completed her SVQ Level 3 the following year. Gemma worked abroad for several years in nurseries in Australia and New Zealand before deciding to come back to Edinburgh and continue working in early years here.

Gemma enjoys reading, drawing and going to the rugby with her friends in her spare time.

Laura

Deputy Manager

Laura has worked with children across all age groups in Early Years, Primary and Secondary Education within indoor and outdoor settings. Laura has a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and is currently working towards completing a Professional Development Award Level 9 in Childhood Practice.

In her spare time, Laura enjoys keeping fit and exploring the great outdoors hillwalking and camping.
