Welcome to Pilrig Children’s Nursery

Pilrig Children’s Nursery is a small nursery situated on Pilrig Street, just opposite Pilrig Park. We care for children from 6 months to 5 years and we are in partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council for the provision of funded places for 3 to 5 year olds.

Pilrig Children’s Nursery was first opened in 2014. Our wonderful nursery is managed by Denise Lawrence, Denise has many years of experience in the Childcare sector and a wealth of knowledge. Working alongside her is an experienced and enthusiastic team who are all dedicated to providing high quality early learning and childcare. All of our staff are either fully qualified or working towards their qualification.

We place a high emphasis on child centred play and outdoor learning. We have a large & well stocked garden, providing an adventurous place for young children to explore, play and learn. With easy access to the garden from our bright & sunny playrooms, the children have endless opportunities for high quality play and learning.

The nursery is open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday all year round, closing only for 8 days at Christmas and New Year.

The staff are very knowledgeable and kind and approach their jobs with genuine warmth and care. They have been very helpful in supporting our child through big milestones like potty training and nap transitions. We have liked how often we receive updates on how our child is doing day-to-day and what activities she has been up to. We also see what she's been eating - the nursery chef makes amazing food!
